Prepare online, sign in person
Send your document ahead — we will tell you exactly what to bring
Every service listed below can begin online. Send a clear photograph or scan of the document by WhatsApp or through the form. We check it against your ID, confirm the correct stamp paper value and the prescribed fee, and give you a time slot — so one visit at the chambers is enough.
Notarisation itself requires you to sign in person before the Notary. Everything before and after that step can be handled online.
Attestation and authentication of documents
Notarial attestation confirms that a document — or a copy of a document — is authentic and has been executed by the person whose signature appears on it. We attest educational certificates, PAN and Aadhaar copies, driving licences, passports, government-issued IDs and commercial documents for use before Indian authorities and, where required, for onward Apostille or MEA attestation for overseas use.
Typically required
- • Original document
- • Clear photocopy
- • Government photo ID of the person signing
Typical turnaround
Same day — usually 15 to 30 minutes at the chambers.
Affidavits — general, name change, address, income, gap, status
An affidavit is a written statement of fact sworn on oath before a Notary. We draft and notarise affidavits for a wide range of purposes: name change and gazette notification, address proof, income declaration, gap certificate for students, single status, marital status, joint declarations by spouses, and court affidavits filed in support of applications. Every affidavit is drafted in the correct legal form for the authority it is being submitted to.
Typically required
- • Non-judicial stamp paper (denomination as advised)
- • Photo ID
- • Supporting proofs (degree, address proof, etc.)
- • Two passport-size photographs where required
Typical turnaround
Drafting plus notarisation typically completed the same day.
Notarisation of agreements and deeds
We notarise rental and lease agreements, sale agreements, partnership deeds, service agreements, memoranda of understanding, non-disclosure agreements and loan agreements. A notarised agreement carries evidentiary weight in court and satisfies most banking, employer and institutional requirements. For rentals of eleven months or less in Tamil Nadu, notarisation is generally sufficient; longer tenures should be registered with the Sub-Registrar.
Typically required
- • Draft agreement (or brief to draft one)
- • Non-judicial stamp paper
- • Photo ID of every executant
- • Witnesses (usually two)
Typical turnaround
Straightforward agreements are notarised on the same visit.
Certification of true copies of documents
A notarial true copy certifies that a photocopy is a genuine reproduction of the original document presented to the Notary. This is routinely required by banks, employers, embassies, universities and government departments. We certify true copies of educational certificates, professional licences, PAN, Aadhaar, passport, driving licence, ration card, birth and marriage certificates and corporate documents.
Typically required
- • Original document (mandatory)
- • Clear photocopies
- • Photo ID of the person submitting
Typical turnaround
Same day, generally under 20 minutes.
Attestation of signatures and thumb impressions
For persons who are unable to sign, or where a document requires an independent officer to verify that a signature was made in their presence, we attest signatures and thumb impressions. This is often used for bank documents, employer forms, pension records and legal declarations by elderly or ill signatories.
Typically required
- • Original document to be signed
- • Photo ID of the signatory
- • Witness where required
Typical turnaround
Same day.
Administering oaths and affirmations
A Notary is empowered to administer oaths and affirmations for the purpose of court proceedings, arbitrations and statutory declarations. We administer oaths for the making of affidavits, verification of pleadings, and other legal purposes both in our chambers and, on request, on-site.
Typically required
- • The statement or affidavit to be sworn
- • Photo ID of the deponent
Typical turnaround
Immediate on visit.
Attestation for passport, visa and overseas use
Documents required for passport applications, visa filings, immigration and overseas study or work are prepared and notarised in the format expected by the receiving authority. This includes joint affidavits by parents, sponsorship affidavits, no-objection statements, single-status declarations and character affirmations. Where onward Apostille or embassy attestation is required, we prepare the document so that it flows through the subsequent process without rejection.
Typically required
- • Passport or ID of the applicant
- • Supporting documents (invitation, admission letter, sponsor details, etc.)
- • Non-judicial stamp paper if applicable
Typical turnaround
Same day for drafting and notarisation.
Apostille and MEA attestation — guidance and coordination
For documents that must be used abroad in a Hague Convention country, an Apostille from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India is required. For non-Hague countries, embassy attestation is needed. We prepare, notarise and coordinate the onward Apostille or attestation process for personal documents, educational certificates, commercial documents and powers of attorney.
Typically required
- • Original document
- • Notarial attestation (we handle this)
- • Details of the destination country
Typical turnaround
Notarisation is same day; MEA Apostille typically takes 5 to 10 working days.
Protest of bills of exchange and promissory notes
Under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 read with the Notaries Act, 1952, a Notary is authorised to note and protest bills of exchange, promissory notes and cheques for non-acceptance or non-payment. We attend to noting and protest formalities for banks and commercial parties in Chennai.
Typically required
- • Original instrument
- • Details of presentment
- • Correspondence with the drawee if any
Typical turnaround
Handled within statutory time limits under the Act.
Recording of statements and declarations
For situations that require an independent legal officer to record a formal statement — statutory declarations, verified statements, and factual declarations for institutional use — we record and notarise the statement in the appropriate legal form.
Typically required
- • Photo ID
- • Any supporting documents referenced
Typical turnaround
Same day.
Questions about notarial services
- Which documents can a Notary attest?
- A Notary can attest and authenticate documents including affidavits, powers of attorney, agreements, deeds, true copies of originals, signatures and thumb impressions, and any instrument for which notarial attestation is permitted or required by law.
- Do I need to bring the original document?
- For true-copy certification and for most attestations, the original document must be produced in person. Photocopies alone are not sufficient.
- Can I get an affidavit notarised without stamp paper?
- No. An affidavit must be executed on non-judicial stamp paper of the value prescribed under the Tamil Nadu Stamp Act. We can advise on the correct denomination for your purpose.
- Is home or office attendance possible?
- Yes. For clients who cannot travel — including elderly, hospitalised or bed-ridden persons, and for corporate clients on request — we can attend at your location within Chennai.
